“Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!”
Psalms 27:14 TPT
Happy new month, few more weeks to 2026 and I am confident that the Lord has gone before us. In this week’s blog we will be reading about having the willingness to wait expectantly on the Lord. Our posture of waiting for Him demonstrates our faith in Him, we don’t know or see what Heaven is doing but because we believe, we are certain that our waiting is not in vain. Imagine a woman who just found out that she’s pregnant, because it’s still early she might not feel the baby moving yet but the report says that she’s pregnant. Over a nine–month period, the fetus develops into a human being capable of independent survival. During this time, the child instinctively learns vital functions like breathing and sleeping without instruction. The expectant mother prepares to nurture her child, and families anticipate the arrival of this new person. The child’s physical absence during gestation does not diminish the reality of the pregnancy; a profound biological process unfolds in distinct stages. Regardless of when the pregnancy becomes outwardly apparent, the outcome is certain within a set timeframe. This period of waiting is filled with hope and joy, fueled by the knowledge of the journey’s end: the imminent sound of a newborn’s cry in the home. While I am not a mother myself yet, I believe the Lord is using the journey of pregnancy to illustrate this spiritual truth. Maybe you received a word from the Lord regarding something and it looks like it’s taking time, like this woman who just found out that she’s pregnant, a posture of waiting will be required from you. There are processes going on that no eyes have seen, a movement so powerful that no force can stop it. It’s hidden because it’s precious, the Lord is in it and will only be known to humans when He reveals it. “The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.”Deuteronomy 29:29 NLT. What we await is in our Father’s hands, far beyond anyone else’s reach. God alone orchestrates the events of our waiting period. Until His promise is fully revealed, His hand remains actively involved, giving us reason to hold fast and wait.
I now understand why prophet Isaiah said;“But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired. Isaiah 40:31 AMP. The Lord knows what waiting requires from us, and if not done in the right manner people will end up giving up. New strength is needed, so since we are waiting on Him He provides the strength. This allows us to maintain our focus and faith, no matter the obstacles encountered along the journey. See, distractions and challenges will try to interfere with God’s process. They aim to manipulate the situation so that we give up and are not present when the blessings God is preparing are finally revealed. So be cautious in your waiting, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into understanding these truths. The seasons of waiting in our lives serve many purposes, one of those reasons is that God is using the time to prepare and position us. The promise that God is fulfilling will require a healed, joyful and a certain you— a you that is completely in love with all of Heaven. The Shunammite woman in 2 kings 4 was going on about her life until Elisha started coming in her city. The Bible recounts the story of a woman who regularly offered Prophet Elisha meals. One day, her generosity prompted her to suggest a greater act of hospitality to her husband: building a dedicated room for Elisha. She proposed this so that whenever he visited their city, he would have a consistent place to rest. Her service evolved significantly, moving beyond merely providing food to offering a permanent sanctuary for the man of God. Then the prophet spoke a word ““About this time next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms.” …”. The Shunammite woman had no children of her own, but the arrival of a prophecy changed her focus. In her complete devotion to serving the prophet, she was inwardly transformed. She became a mother in spirit and action before she ever physically gave birth. Whatever challenges will come with motherhood, this woman would know what to do and where to go. I love that God is present every step of the way, from the very beginning to the very end. He doesn’t just give us things and leave us to figure out the next steps, He’s always there. God Himself plants these desires within us. Though they feel entirely like our own wishes, they are part of His plan. Every step of His plan requires a transformed you: someone stronger and wiser. Those dreams and visions you keep having are divinely inspired; trust God to execute them in His perfect timing.. “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”Philippians 2:13 NLT. Wait on Him, let God bring His plan together.
Imagine if the disciples had not waited long enough as Jesus had advised, even they had to wait for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. With everything that they knew and had experienced they still had to wait, in one accord they sat and waited like Jesus had told them to do. They didn’t know how this gift will come but they were expectant, the only certainty was that it would arrive with power. “They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”Acts 2:3-4 NIV. Waiting in the Lord comes with divine ability called anointing, this will cause you to do what an ordinary man can not. Your vision will be extended, you’ll hear what others can’t. So don’t think that your waiting is in vain, there’s a Heavenly process going on in you and around you. God is making sure that you and your environment as well are ready for the promise. The disciples waited and when the Holy Spirit presented Himself, their lives changed. People even wondered about their nationalities, their speech changed and this is because someone much greater and better had taken over their lives. Their waiting resulted in them becoming who Jesus had been preaching about. When it’s your season and time to wait, I encourage you to do it. Don’t be in a rush, whatever God requires from you in that waiting, do it. With a cheerful heart, do it. Sometimes your waiting can actually mean doing nothing, just being still. When I was young, I had a vision during prayer of a woman sitting in her home as things collapsed around her; she remained completely still. When the Lord asked me why she didn’t move, I couldn’t answer. He explained that her stillness came from her absolute trust in the Giver of all she had. That experience taught me what it means to have faith in God, Faith is necessary not just when things look good, but especially when we are challenged from every direction. Apostle said; “Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 TPT. Let faith arise in your waiting so that you can also say; “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”2 Timothy 4:7 NIV. Even in your waiting hold on to faith because you will need it when the promise is fulfilled.
No matter how your waiting looks like, I am certain that God will bring you out of it, refuse to let factors like time bring fear and anxiety in to your heart. The One you trust controls times and seasons. “But do not forget one thing, my dear friends! There is no difference in the Lord’s sight between one day and a thousand years; to him the two are the same.”2 Peter 3:8. He will bring you to a place He’s preparing you for. This place is already done, it’s an established place. Allow Him to work on you so that when you get there you know what to do. David never said that God prepares a table for him while he stands there looking , but He boldly said; “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”Psalms 23:5 . He found a table prepared. May this be your story, your table awaits you. The master has gone before you to make sure that all things are perfect for you. Continue holding on, please don’t give up. All of Heaven is cheering you, keep trusting in the Lord. Romans 10:11 says; “For the Scriptures encourage us with these words: “Everyone who believes in him will never be disappointed.””
Amen!!
