for our first post the spirit led me to talk about the marvelous work of Jesus Christ, His beautiful and always complete work in our lives. In the scripture reference above Jesus was washing the disciples feet and while others saw themselves not worthy of that moment, it was a heavenly orchestrated moment. It had to happen, Jesus then continued to say ; “unless I wash you, you have no part of me”. It seemed so simple but yet there was a trade off transaction that was taking place. Simon Peter hearing this then jumped and said; “not just my feet, but my hands and my head as well”. someone might be thinking that maybe Simon Peter’s head and hands were dirty but the man just wanted all of Jesus in him. The disciples had been with the Master for awhile and seeing the way He does things and the way He talks is inspiring enough to want to be like Him.
You might be wondering if He can still wash you today in 2025 or which ever year you might be reading this. And my answer is yes, Jesus is forever ready to make each and everyone of us have His identity. In John 10:30 He said; “I and the Father are one”. So if you look, talk and do things like Jesus then you definitely have God’s identity. He said ; those that are His are sheep and they listen to His voice, He knows them and they follow Him. Allow Jesus to wash you and transform you in to His identity. See there is no better position than this one, being like the Master.
Jesus now gave us His word to declare with our mouths that He is Lord and and to also believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead,Romans 10:9. It says if you do these then you shall be saved. There is a rebirth that takes place when you boldly declare the above, and it is that of the spirit. whether you feel it or not after making that prayer you are born again. Born of the spirit is what Jesus calls us. And He says ; …no one can snatch us out of God’s hand. Once you come into this position you remain forever His.
May this be your reality as you journey through this life, may you make that choice to be born by the spirit. Take on the identity of the Master. If you would like to have Christ’s identity I will post the salvation prayer after this and you can say the prayer with me.
