1 Peter 2: 9-10But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.
You have something to give. As believers we are chosen by God to come in to the world and be an extension of our Father’s hand and heart. We have received so much from Him that we can’t just display His goodness but also give it to those in need of it. The scripture reference calls us God’s instruments, God created you and did what He did for you knowing that you will do His work. We give because our Father is a giver, a cheerful one.
In Acts 3:1-10, Peter and John were going to the temple to pray and they met a man who had been lame from birth at the gate. The man asked them for money but Peter looked at Him, probably thinking what could have happened to this man’s faith that he is not asking us to pray for him or even help him into the church. So Peter told the man that they don’t have that which he thought he needed but he prayed that he be healed and the man was indeed healed. He walked into the temple and many were amazed at what had happened to him. I would like to believe that had Jesus been around He would have done the same thing, remember in John 4 when He told the woman at the well that the water He will give her she will no longer thirst. That is kingdom giving. When it’s not about what we think the person wants but what God wants to give them. This is when compassion steps in, Psalm 86:15 David referred to God as compassionate and gracious. God wants the best for His people, choose to be a distributor of God’s best to His people.
Let the Spirit of truth guide you on what it is that God wants for His people. Peter said to the man; “…but what I do have I give you”. The Holy spirit imparted power when He came to reside in us and at any moment when we lay our hands on anyone this power is activated. There is God’s excellence and wonder stored up inside of us, so when we give we give from that. It’s not up to us to decide what people deserve to be given but the Father. What you think might be small for people to hear or receive, might just be what the Lord wants for them. So be obedient and give that which the Lord has placed in your hands and heart. Let God’s message reach people through you, be true to that . Be committed to this as Christ was. Our Lord Jesus couldn’t let anything in the world stop Him from giving what was already inside of Him.
My prayer for you today is that you realise that there is a message and gift inside of you that the world needs to hear. I pray that the Holy spirit inspires you and fills you with courage and wisdom to give that which is inside of you. You are the right man and woman for this!
God bless you
