“Then Elisha said, “Go and borrow bowls from all your neighbors. They must be empty. Borrow plenty of bowls.”
2 Kings 4:3 ERV
Happy 2026! Thank you for joining this Heavenly vision and for your incredible support. Your dedication and love truly mean so much. The Lord has prepared a table for us this year, and I look forward to sharing the new assignments and partnerships we will be stepping into.
For our first post of the year, we’re looking at growing our capacity for more. I know the idea of ‘more’ can feel overwhelming, but when you belong to God, He can place anything in His kingdom under your stewardship. We just need to be prepared. We might not always know how to get ready, but we can trust that God is doing the work for us. He is busy preparing us from the inside out—aligning our hearts and minds—while simultaneously orchestrating our surroundings. He even manages the timing of events to ensure we are perfectly positioned for what’s next. While talking with my sisters last week, we were reflecting on this very theme. The Holy Spirit reminded me of the story in 2 Kings 4, where a widow comes to the prophet Elisha in total distress. Her husband had passed away, and now creditors were at her door, threatening to take her two sons as slaves to settle his debts. “Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”” 2 Kings 4:2 NIV. **Firstly, I love that she sought Elisha for a spiritual breakthrough rather than a temporary fix. She understood that no matter the circumstances, God remained her ultimate source. Her small jar of oil appeared insignificant against the weight of her debt, yet it was the very thing God chose to multiply. Then the Prophet continued to say; “…Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.” 2 Kings 4:3 NIV. The blessing God had prepared required more empty jars than what the widow already had in her house. To match the scale of the coming breakthrough, she had to expand her capacity. Elisha’s instruction was specific: collect empty jars from everywhere, stressing that she shouldn’t limit herself to just a small number. He knew that the only thing that would limit the oil was the number of containers she provided. They needed more than ‘just enough’ so the oil could keep moving. By lining up jar after jar, they ensured that the supernatural supply had a place to land. In this miracle, the oil was infinite; only the jars were finite. These vessels symbolize our own capacity to receive. God had already released a breakthrough for her entire household, but she had to physically manifest the space to hold it. What if she had stopped at three jars? We serve a generous God, but our capacity is tied to our obedience. Grace provides the oil, but obedience provides the jars. Let’s make sure we are listening closely and obeying fully so we don’t miss a single drop of what He is pouring out. This isn’t just about us—it’s about the future. God is pouring out enough for our entire household and the years ahead. Let’s stay alert and sensitive to His voice, ensuring we don’t miss the instructions that will secure our family’s breakthrough. Knowledge and obedience are the bridges to our breakthrough. As Hosea 4 reminds us, without knowledge, we falter. God has prepared a ‘more than enough’ future for us, but we will only see the scale of that promise if we are willing to walk in full obedience to His word today.
“Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.””
2 Kings 4:4 NIV. The prophet’s instruction to shut the door was strategic. I believe it created a sacred space for the miracle to unfold without the weight of outside opinions. Behind that closed door, there was no one to ask, ‘How is this possible?’ or ‘When will it run out?’ It was a moment of pure, uncorrupted Heaven at work, free from the interference of doubt. Expanding our capacity for what God is doing requires a deliberate departure from the ‘norm.’ We cannot expect extraordinary overflow while clinging to ordinary habits. To hold what Heaven is pouring, we must be willing to separate ourselves from the common ways of thinking and living that limit our growth. Refuse to allow the standards of any earthly kingdom to define your purpose. You belong to a higher lineage. As Isaiah 54:2 commands, we must ‘enlarge the place of our tent’ and stretch our curtains wide. What the Lord is about to release is not a small thing; it is a generational and international mandate that will require your total surrender and all of your capacity. It may seem unusual, or even illogical, but I urge you to trust God completely. Just as Mary instructed at the wedding in Cana, ‘Do whatever He tells you.’ When the wine ran out and the servers were at a loss, Mary didn’t panic; she turned to the Master. Even when it seemed the time wasn’t right, she stood in faith. Because the servers followed Jesus’ instruction to fill jars with water, they witnessed a miracle. Their obedience turned ordinary water into extraordinary wine.
If you are wondering how we will sustain this expansion, remember the promise of Jesus: “whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture says, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:38 NIV. God knows exactly what you can handle; He is the architect of your capacity. You don’t need to fear a breakdown or a fall, because you aren’t running on your own strength—the Spirit that directs the flow also sustains the vessel. There is a river ready to pour through you. So, go out and gather your jars—and make sure you bring plenty! When you arrive, come ready. You won’t be waiting for the miracle to start; Yahweh is already pouring out His love, mercy, and grace. Bring your heart exactly as it is today. Let Him examine it, heal the broken places, and prepare it to hold the overflow He is already releasing.
Let’s pray;
Precious Father ; we pray that you increase our capacity to be able to handle what Heaven is busy doing now. We pray, Lord, that You would anoint our heads with oil, empowering us to withstand every challenge this calling brings. Let Your divine seal be upon us, providing the strength and endurance we need to fulfill the assignments of 2026 with unwavering faith. Thank you beautiful Jesus for trusting us with generations and nations, we are your vessels; use us for the expansion of your kingdom. Until the whole world sings one song and believe that Jesus is Lord; keep us burning Lord, thank you for the ability to be and to do. May you be glorified in Heaven and on earth as we bring many back to you. In Jesus name; AMEN!!
