Positioned for the Promise

God promised Abraham and his descendants that they would have an heir who would reign over the world. This royal promise was not fulfilled because Abraham kept all the law, but through the righteousness that was transferred by faith.”

Over the years, the Spirit has emphasized the value of being positioned exactly where one is meant to be. While we might feel a duty to place ourselves correctly, I have learned that God is the one doing the positioning. God, our Architect, has a detailed plan for our lives. Trusting where He puts us and obeying His guidance will lead us to the promise He has for us. As we advance, stand firm in the knowledge that you are a child of the promise, held by a God who keeps His word. “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”Numbers‬ ‭23‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬. Every promise spoken over your life will come to pass. In this post, we explore the vital role of positioning in receiving the promises God has spoken over your life. Whether you are still searching for your place, currently standing in position while waiting for fulfillment, or already holding the promise in your hands, one truth remains: divine positioning is the essential key to walking in God’s fullness. Remember when Apostle Paul said; “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”? Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬. The Lord positioned Apostle Paul beyond the reach of circumstance. Whatever his need or want, he operated from a place of divine satisfaction, finding complete contentment in everything. In case you are thinking he was only content because he had everything he needed, listen to what the very next verse reveals. “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬. The fulfillment of Apostle Paul’s promise required him to not be swayed by earthly needs. He was content in all things. Jesus modeled this perfectly when He said His food was to do His Father’s will. Jesus found pleasure in doing God’s works on earth. This precedent shows us that obtaining our promises requires a heavenly mindset that transcends human conditions.

We see the same principle in the life of Abraham. Even when the promise seemed impossible, both he and Sarah were well beyond their child bearing years according to science; but the word spoken over them had the power to pierce through barrenness and age. Abraham’s faith kept him accurately positioned. Despite the long years of waiting, his unwavering belief ensured he was in the right position so that when the appointed time arrived, the miracle could manifest (Genesis21). Faith is the vehicle that transports you into the land of your God given promises. If you are aware of the promises spoken over you, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your belief. Let faith be your permanent position. Even when those promises manifest in abundance, you will still need that same faith to sustain them and steward their growth. Because of his unwavering faith, Abraham believed every word God spoke; from the countless stars in the heavens to the grains of sand on the shore. This absolute trust qualified him to become the ultimate example of a person of faith. “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,”Genesis‬ ‭22‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬.

The promise for your future has been made. The question is: are you in position to receive it? God knows the weight of the blessing He is sending your way, which is why He is so intentional about ensuring your accurate positioning and readiness. Obedience is the key to maintaining your divine position. When God gives you a heaven-inspired direction that feels out of the ordinary, your response determines your readiness. Noah chose obedience over public opinion. While the world thought he was losing his mind, he was actually securing his future because he moved at God’s command.

Consider the promises our Father has spoken over you. Allow Him to align your entire being; soul, mind, body, and character, to receive them. Let Him refine you today, so that when those promises manifest, they find you exactly where He positioned you, faithfully doing what He called you to do. If the Lord requires you to wait patiently, embrace that season. Scripture assures us that those who wait on the Lord never wait in vain; He is always working behind the scenes. So wait! Before the disciples could walk in the same manner as Jesus, they had to wait for the Holy Spirit’s power to rest upon them. Their season of patient waiting was not empty; it was the essential posture that opened the heavens and released divine power into their lives. Upon the arrival of the promise, they were transformed. They spoke a different language; one of faith and fulfilment, leaving those who knew them before unable to recognize who they had become.

Precious Lord, thank You for the perfect work You have begun in our lives. Thank You, Jesus, for positioning us to receive Your promises; we will stand firm and wait on You. May we always carry the confidence that every heavenly resource has already been made available to us. I pray for everyone desiring to be positioned; I pray that the spirit of God transports them in Jesus name, we’ve prayed amen!
