“Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too. And from now on you will realize that you have seen him and experienced him.””
John 14:6-7 TPT
In our journey as God’s children we have the privilege to commune with Christ and receive guidance from Him. We have received Jesus in our lives to live for Him and represent Him in everything we do. The reason for our living is Jesus. He has put us in places we are now because He has a plan and He wants to achieve that plan through our lives (Ephesians 2:10). No matter the position you hold, there is a Heavenly purpose over your life and realising this will change how you view life and live. In Acts 10 when Peter and John went to the temple to pray, the bible says that they met a man at the gate. This man was put there each day to beg from those going into the temple. But on this day as he asked Peter and John for money, the two men remembered their teacher’s doings. Every time Jesus met with a person their lives changed, He always gave what required faith. Jesus always gave solutions that are permanent and He still does. So money was just going to carry this man for that season or time but Peter and John wanted to give him what really mattered and that was healing from Jesus. “Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”” Acts 3:6. The bible says that this man jumped to his feet and began to walk. The disciples had now realised that their lives were for bringing honor and glory to the Master. Jesus had walked the earth and done many miracles in their presence, so now they were put in office to do the same and even more.
The most important thing about this life is our walk with Christ, everything about us is wrapped up in this truth. “Yes, through Christ we all have the right to come to the Father in one Spirit.”
Ephesians 2:18 ERV. Jesus gave us our true identity, He made a way for us to be called God’s children again. Without Him we would be living a meaningless life but He saw us worthy of a life of purpose and divine fulfilment. One of the things Jesus gave us is healing, in Matthew 11:28-30 He said;
““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”” A life outside of Jesus can bring many frustrations, He modelled a life full of peace to us when He came into the world. In the midst of challenges and many other situations that He came across Jesus maintained peace. This must have been very important because in John 14:27 He said; ““I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid.” There’s so much clarity that comes when one is in a peaceful state, we are able to do and hear clearly when peace surrounds us. We have the perfect peace of Christ in us, peace to keep us calm and still for any type of circumstances. This peace will take away burden or hurt from the past. Jesus said that it’s a different one, you can’t compare this peace to any other. It’s relevant for any situation. Whatever comes your way, this peace will help you respond calmly.
Christ is the foundation of the life we are living, our lives are built on this foundation. One thing about a house with a strong foundation is that it can stand any type of weather. In Matthew 7:24-27 Jesus gave an indication of how a person who listens to His word and follow it is like one who builds on a rock. He said; “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” There’s so much support and sustenance found in Christ. He won’t sleep on you, He has everything in place. Nothing can take you down or end your story otherwise, the Master is the author of your life’s story. In Daniel 6, when the king had declared that he should be the only one worshiped for 30 days, Daniel continued with the life he knew (praying to the almighty God). When others realised this they told the king and he ordered that Daniel be thrown into the lion’s den. The next morning Daniel testified of what God had done; “My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.””Daniel 6:22.
Let your life bring glory to God, in any situation . Let His power, love, peace and everything He is be experienced through you. The essence of life is Christ, He’s the reason we go around telling people about this gospel. He’s the reason for our being, I can not imagine life without Him. He is ever present, omnipotent, majestic, beautiful and Holy. He saw us worthy of a life in union with Him.
I pray that as you reflect Jesus to the world, His name be glorified. May many lives return back to the Master as you remind them of the life found in Him. I pray that the peace Jesus gave us overwhelms you and causes you to be calm in any situation. If you need healing for your soul or body, I pray for you. May Jesus who takes away all burden, lift this burden of sickness from you. May you continue beholding the true essence of life, Jesus Christ. As we get ready to meet with Him, I pray that you continue holding on and doing everything He has commissioned you to do. Amen!
