Matthew 26: 41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”
There is something that prayer does in us, it awakens the spirit man inside. Your spirit is able to perceive and see what is hidden to our human eyes. Prayer helps us see beyond any situation or season. It transports us to that promise or that answer. Many times in the bible when men and women of God were faced with situations they prayed and there is never a time that God didn’t answer. In James 5:17 – 18 the bible reminds us of a man who prayed and in both events results were there.
The scripture reference above refers to the time before the arrest of Jesus, He had taken some of His disciples to go and pray with Him. Jesus knew what was about to happen and needed others to see it as well. A fervent prayer does that, it shows you moments to come so that you are ready and equipped for what ever is coming. Thou the equipping and positioning is not our role but the Lord’s. When we pray we are aligning to what is the will of God in that season or concerning that issue. Jesus said the watching and praying was so that the disciples don’t give in to temptation, they needed to be above temptation and prayer could take them there.
When we pray God speaks and sometimes we can be caught up in what we believe motivated that prayer meeting which in most cases is our desires and it is the Lord’s as well, but watch and pray. God also gives instructions on how we should pray, what you think might require your tears might just be a thanksgiving prayer away. Be alert while praying, let the spirit move you into areas you never thought existed so that you see that promise or overcome that situation.
